영화 신데렐라 뮤지컬을
아마존 프라임으로 보았다.
신데렐라 하면 디즈니인데 이번에는
디즈니가 아닌 소니픽쳐스가
제작을 맡았다. 게다가 신데렐라 주인공이
백인이 아니라는 것 만으로도 일단 신선하다.
사실 신데렐라는 봐도 너무 많이 봤으니까
또 하나의 신데렐겠지~
했는데 기대 이상(?)으로 너무 좋았다.
패션디자이너를 꿈꾸는 신데렐라는
현 시대에도 여전히 계모와 언니들의
구박을 받고 댄스 파티에 갈 희망도
빼앗기지만 그래도 괜찮다.
요정 대모가 있으니까.
근데 요정 대모가 이상하네?
‘아메리칸 호러 스토리’의 빌리 포터 라면 어떨까?
흑인 게이 배우 최초로 에미상을 수상한 빌리포터가
자신의 존재감을 확실하게 드러낸다.
신데렐라를 괴롭히는 계모는
‘겨울왕국’에서 엘사 목소리를 연기했던
이디나 멘젤(Idina Menzel)이다.
이번에도 그녀의 시원시원한 노래를 들을 수 있다.
왕자역에는 니콜라스 갈리친(Nicholas Galitzine)이 맡았다.
이색적인 캐스팅과 원작과는 다른 스토리 전개로
신선하고 재미까지 선사한다.
무엇보다 노래가 좋으니까.
보는내내 귀가 즐겁고
패션 디자이너의 꿈을 키워가는
신데렐라를 보는 재미도 솔솔하여
